Diwali 2023: Must Visit Ram Temples in India

Lord Rama was the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is worshipped by Hindus all over the world. After the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya issue, a grand Ram Mandir is being constructed in the holy town. But, there are several Ram Temples in India that one must visit at least once in a lifetime. 

Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Uttar Pradesh 

Ram Mandir in Ayodhya holds special significance for Hindus as it is said to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. Ayodhya is known for its tranquillity, peaceful Ghats, classic temples, and Hindus’ unwavering faith in Lord Ram. 

Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple, Telangana 

The temple located in Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri Kothagudem district in the state of Telangana is one of the famous in India. On Ram Navami, it witnesses grand celebrations of the wedding anniversary of Lord Rama and his consort Sita with much fanfare.  

Raghunath Temple, Jammu 

The Raghunath Temple is situated in Jammu in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and is regarded as one of the biggest temple complexes in North India. There are seven shrines in the temple complex, but the one of Lord Rama is the most important one. Raghunath is another name of Lord Rama. The temple has murals of more than 300 Hindu gods and goddesses. 

Ram Raja Temple, Madhya Pradesh 

It is the only temple in India, where Rama is worshipped as a king. This temple resembles a majestic fort. King Rama receives an arms salutation and guard of respect every day. You will be amazed by the appealing interiors of this temple. 

Kalaram Temple, Maharashtra 

Kalaram Temple is situated in the Panchvati area of Nashik City in Maharashtra and is one of the finest modern temples of Lord Rama. Kalaram means ‘Black Rama’ and the temple got the name since the standing idols of Lord Rama, Sita, and Laxmana are made of black stone. The temple is believed to be on the spot where Lord Rama lived during his exile.
