Dr Shekhar Tokas, Dr Ashish Kumar

Dr Shekhar Tokas is Deputy Dean, International Affairs Division and Assistant Professor at School of Global Affairs, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi, India. He has a PhD in Economics of Education from Jawaharlal Nehru University and completed his Masters and Bachelors in economics from Jamia Millia Islamia and Hansraj College, University of Delhi. He has held lectureship for more than seven years at the University of Delhi and Delhi Technological University. His research and publications have primarily focused on international migration of students and knowledge workers, human capital investment, internationalization of higher education, and development economics. Dr. Tokas is also the recipient of a Major Research Grant awarded by the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR 2023-2025) and ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship (2014-2015). Dr Ashish Kumar teaches sociology to law students at B.P.S. Women University, Sonepat,  Haryana. With a background in science and management, he completed his MA and PhD in Sociology from JNU. Studies of culture, psyche and pedagogy, sociology of gender, interface of media and feminist theory, indigenous pedagogies and cultural emotions, and the socio-cultural dimensions of Internationalisation of higher education currently form the main axis of his work. His life-long commitment to pedagogy and feminist forays in higher education includes several consciousness-raising initiatives for nurturing the emancipatory imagination within learning spaces.  His literary interests keep him occupied with writing poetry and fiction during his free time.
